WE STRIVE TO CAPTURE REAL MOMENTS, AND THE REAL YOU.
Hey there! I’m Karla-Rae, your local Fort McMurray Photographer. Born and raised in Fort McMurray, I have spent the last 37 years calling it home. Here is where I have raised my four beautiful children, met the love of my life, and witnessed the growth of our city from a little community of around 30,000 in 1981, to a bustling city of over 60,000 today. I have grown to truly love our community, and the people within it.
I strive to capture real moments, and the real you during our portrait sessions. I love LOVE in all it’s forms. I love to witness the bond during our Mommy & Me sessions as my clients nurse and snuggle their beautiful babies, the passion between a couple as they kiss and embrace, the incredible dynamics of a family as they play together and laugh. I encourage all of my clients to think outside of the box when it comes to their portrait sessions, thinking up adventures they could have together and fun activities to plan so that they are really truly engaged with one another, and not my lens. I will give prompts rather than poses, and strive to leave my clients feeling relaxed, happy and having fun.

I don't want to fill this space with cliché tidbits about myself and career so let me say this instead;
I'm weird. I'm socially awkward. I will either talk way too much or not at all, there's no in-between with me. I am an introvert, but I love people. I am incredibly shy, but will talk your ear off and tell you way too much about my life during our session. I am a mommy to four incredible children, 5 through 20. That makes me feel old every time I say it. I love LOVE. My drink of choice is Pepsi. I love bacon, and really almost anything spicy. I am obsessed with the smell of the forest, I will never get over breathing it in. I equally love sniffing babies (I mentioned I'm weird?). I think beards are sexy. I will very rarely ask you to look at the camera. I want you connecting with one another, with yourself, with the earth - not with my lens. Let's go on an adventure together!
(THE BETTER HALF)
Truly, I couldn't do this job without this man. He not only builds all my props (as well as all of our furniture), drives me to workshops and to sessions, looks after the kids, brews the booze for my clients and grows the bud for myself and for our "Stoner Sessions", but he fully supports me in my journey every single step of the way. He's pretty awesome. I kind of love him.
